It's been a while since we updated our site. We've been busy! Since 2013, Park Place has graduated 2-3 toddlers every Spring. Park Place has one opening but is anticipating being at capacity by the holidays. Our next anticipated opening is Summer 2018.

About the Caregivers

Susan Park

A Caring Mother and Grandmother with a tender heart for babies and toddlers.

Ben Park: recently retired, Ben is fully licensed to assist Susan at Park Place.

Married for over 40 years, from war-torn childhoods in Korea to sunny Oakland-Cali, Ben and Susan are enjoying their golden years caring for babies!

What is Park Place like?

There is a big garden out front with seasonal fruits and vegetables. As you enter, there is a play area/living room with a counter/bar that separates the kitchen from play area. There is always the smell of Korean food cooking so be ready for garlic, seaweed, and soup fragrances! There is one bedroom set aside for naps/quiet time with 3 cribs. Susan and Ben speak English but also speak Korean to the children with music playing daily. Daily walks are taken with the quad-stroller and safety ropes for toddlers. The TV is rarely ever turned on unless Susan and Ben's older grandchildren are home early from school (once a month).

Located in the beautiful area in between the Laurel/Glenview Districts of Oakland. A few blocks above MacArthur on a quiet street.

Quick access to 580 freeway and 1 mile from 13 Highway (off Joaquin Miller Exit)

Directions

From 580, travelling East, exit 35th Avenue, left on 35th Ave, Left on Kansas, right on Maple, right onto California St.
(Fruitvale exit is also an option)

From 580, travelling West, exit Coolidge, right onto Coolidge, right on Carmel, right on Maple, left onto California St.

From 13 Highway, travelling North/South, exit Joaquin Miller, turn onto Lincoln going downhill past Mormon Temple, left onto Carmel, right on Maple, left onto California St.

(Redwood Rd/Carson Exit is also an option from Highway 13)
